Client: Carlsberg Supply Company AG
Area: Health and Safety (H&S) across the entire supply chain (factories, logistics, operations)
Challenge
In manufacturing and logistics organizations, health and safety training often loses out to day-to-day operational demands: it is too general, too predictable, and therefore fails to hold people’s attention. In the project for Carlsberg, the goal was to create H&S communication that:
- is specific and rooted in real-life situations
- captures the attention of supply chain employees
- works across different locations and languages (Polish and English)
- complements and strengthens existing H&S training
An additional challenge was to present incidents in a way that was as factually accurate as possible, so that employees could see the real context and understand the causes, rather than just a “dry rule.”
Solution
As part of a long-term collaboration spanning four years, we created a series of materials supporting H&S onboarding, H&S training, and H&S communication. These materials were used both on screens in production sites and during training sessions for supply chain employees.
Materials we created (the core of the series):
- 9 animated videos, each up to 3 minutes long (EN)
- campaign materials: presentations, posters, and visual identity elements
Two content pillars:
1. Video instruction for the Carlsberg factory in Poland (an instructional format focused on “what to do and how”)
2. Zero Accidents Culture: short stories based on real incidents from Carlsberg operations worldwide, following the structure:
What happened → why it happened → what we learn from it → how to avoid it next time
Topics covered in the episodes already produced:
- Safety procedures (including LOTO)
- Confined spaces
- Work at height
- Hot water and repair – related risks
- Work with dangerous chemicals
- Unsafe lifting and overexertion
- Situational awareness
- Safe driving
Why it works in H&S training
Instead of relying on general statements, we show specific workplace situations, their causes, and clear lessons that can be applied immediately. This makes H&S training practical and memorable.
Our goal was to create materials that not only communicate the rules but genuinely engage people. That is why we presented complex H&S topics in the form of short stories, supported by a strong, clear visual layer that makes them easier to understand and remember.
The materials were used:
- in onboarding
- during employee training sessions
- on screens in production sites (workplace communication)
Language versions: Polish and English. The English version was used across multiple locations.
Results
Delivered on time, with revisions completed promptly and the project managed efficiently.
- 100% of materials delivered on schedule
- revisions to draft versions completed on time
- annual savings of €70k thanks to reducing the need for external trainers and training resources

How we worked
- Gathering precise information: the client prepared an initial description of the incident, and we followed up with questions about the context and circumstances so we could recreate the situation in the animation as accurately as possible.
- Storytelling: based on the materials provided by the client, we built a narrative that guided the audience through what happened, why it happened, and what lessons could be learned.
- Storyboard and visual design: we translated the story into a clear visual structure to make it easier to understand and remember.
- Production and iterations: typically 2-3 rounds of revisions. Final approval was given by the project lead on Carlsberg’s side.
